Bake the Aires

Here we have our longest term visitor from Colombia. A baker wih passion; Andres ‘I am Andres, 26 years old from Colombia. I came to Buenos Aires about a year ago in the search of my true passion baking, which i realise after a couple of years studying architecture and a couple more traveling around the American lands, it all came down to my childhood memories and passions.

I am about to finish a pastry chef degree and i am already a working baker and a chocolatier. What i do like about Buenos Aires is the good old cafes in which you can come in and still find the real welcoming porteños always curious about the foreigner into their open spaces , i love the classic “tu no eres de por aca” ice breaker statement, they really know how to keep a conversation going.’

In these his last days with us here how he will keep going after us; ‘In the near future i will like to keep on working as a baker and intend to travel to Ecuador in August and do some research on the cacao, for the coming years i have plans to travel to the land down under to surf(which is my other strong passion) and bake, as well get some more knowledge from the true artisan bakers from Europe.
